ALOE VERA

Word for the Day  Nothing is ever truly ours

Home January’s Challenge: BE TIDY

This is the first day of my monthly challenge!
The back corner of the garden has been crying out to me as it is a mess of pots and buckets and things which I have been saving for savings-sake!

Garden       ALOE VERA
Living first-aid plant,  Medicine plant, Wand of heaven, Burn plant, Divine healer
Aloe vera barbanensis F. Asphodelaceae

AVOID DURING PREGNANCY
My first Aloe was handed to me on the doorstep of our 130 year old wood-clad colonial "Queenslander" at Loganholme.  It was a huge aloe, cradled in the arms of a friend - dug up  from her garden bed because she was moving house.  She was hoping to give it to a good    home!   I think I gave it that good home, as I have taken pups from that aloe over the past 20 years, and are often giving aloes to friends and neighbours.   Since that day, its gel has treated family burns and has been my regular face and neck moisturizer.

Aloe Vera has tremendous healing powers
both externally and internally
for burns,   inflammation, fluid retention, perspiration odours, itching, hemorrhaging,
closing cuts for cell regeneration and healing,
destroying parasites, harmful bacteria and fungi in the intestinal tract, relieving bowel tension and helping produce bowel movements, moisturizing skin, increasing blood flow, removing toxins and dead tissue, penetrating skin to reach tendons, muscles, joints and lumph system, and it has healing powers for promoting the growth of new tissue. Aloe is a pain and allergy inhibitor. It has a normalizing action on fluid levels and the acid/alkaline balance in the body. Aloe vera has a strong effect on the immune system by activating and stimulating macrophages, monocytes, antibodies and T-cells, as well as increasing the number of anti-body forming B-cells in the spleen.  It aids the digestive system – a large range of amino acids, monosaccdharides, fatty acids and enzymes act as catalysts in breaking down complex foods for assimilation of nutrients (poor digestion can be responsible for many diseases).
It can suppress the appetite –  and is therefore good for weight loss.

For Cancer & Immune disorders:
Use Candalebra Aloe  as a  100% JUICE: remove skin, rinse away yellow sap, blend, add 1 teasp of vitamin C powder (to stabilize the gel) for 3 cups of gel and blend at low speed, refrigerate in covered container and take 2-5 tablesp. daily, mixed with water/juice disguising the gooey texture. The pure juice taken regularly is the most effective medicinal treatment. following radium treatment – no burning or nausea!

                                      ALOE VERA TONIC

Stand cut leaves for 30 mins to drain yellow sap; using a 1/2 litre jar, fill it to one-third full of aloe chunks and top with water; refrigerate overnight; drink 1/2 glass of liquid first thing in the morning, and the same amount before each meal and at bedtime if desired. After draining the infusion, refill the jar with water. Have several jars to rotate and drink whenever thirsty. After 10 days empty into compost and start a new batch.

May we all have happy homes and bountiful gardens.
